Queen Camilla and the Princess of Wales both wore elegant green dresses for their latest outings – and the color may be a touching nod to the sixth anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire.

The fire, which swept through the 24-storey building in London on June 14, 2017, shocked the nation and led campaigners to call on the government to strip apartment blocks of flammable siding.

As the Grenfell community came together to show their support, their grief became synonymous with a green heart.

The Prince and Princess of Wales posted a green heart on Twitter on Wednesday, as a show of solidarity with the 72 victims.

Now it looks like Kate and Camilla also paid a subtle tribute with their most recent outfit choices — after both royals stepped out in patterned twinning green dresses.

Kate, 41, accessorized the breezy, silky number, featuring button detailing and a waistband, with a Mulberry bag and Jimmy Choo pumps.

The cool white and green hue of the leopard print made for a fun statement print as the royal also accessorized with Kiki McDonough earrings.

Meanwhile, Camilla opted for a gorgeous white and green dress when naming a horse that will lead the mounted cavalry at the King’s Birthday Parade on Saturday.

In a small ceremony in the gardens of Clarence House, Camilla presented a halter named Juno to the horse, formerly known as Willa Rose, before feeding her a carrot.

A portrait of the 10-year-old shire mare by artist Mandy Shepherd was also unveiled on the occasion on Wednesday, commissioned by the royals to mark Juno’s role.

Juno will formally pass out from her two-year training with the Life Guards regiment when she leads the mounted parade for the Trooping the Color ceremony on Saturday.

She will be part of the royal procession which will include 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians, as well as members of the royal family who will ride on horseback and in carriages from Buckingham Palace and down the Mall to Horse Guard’s Parade.

Since the 2017 tragedy, Kate and William have met with the Grenfell community on several occasions.

Last month, William met with Grenfell survivors and relatives in the run-up to the sixth anniversary of the tower fire.

He visited Loftus Road, the home of Queens Park Rangers FC, to learn more about how the club supported the families of the fire victims in the aftermath of the tragedy.

Grenfell is less than a mile from QPR’s Loftus Road site in Shepherd’s Bush, West London.

The Prince, who is chairman of the Football Association, also heard from former QPR and England striker Les Ferdinand, QPR’s chief executive officer in the Community Trust, about his organisation’s response to the fire.

William also sat down with community and youth workers funded by the trust who support those affected by the fire in areas such as mentorship, mental health and personal development.

Last year, William and Kate attended a memorial service to mark the fifth anniversary of the fire, organized by Grenfell United at the foot of Grenfell Tower.

He also visited with his grandmother, the late Queen, in the days following the fire in June 2017.

He returned again with Kate when they met with survivors as part of the 2019 launch of the National Emergencies Trust.
