Dior launches skincare range for babies, including £80 cleanser and £230 ‘scented water’

Forget toys and teething rings. This year, Dior has launched a new range of items that are at the top of toddlers’ Christmas wish lists: skin care.

Baby Dior has announced its latest venture: luxury skincare for toddlers, including a £230 fragranced water.

The French fashion house first introduced a Baby Dior fragrance in 1970, but the new line marks a rebirth of the original collection, which was said to be full of ‘softness’.

The highlight of the collection is Bonne Etoile, a £230 baby scented water, which translates to ‘lucky star’.

Created by esteemed French perfumer Francis Kurkdijan and creator of fan favorite Baccarat Rouge 540, the fragrance is described as a “childhood memory come to life” with notes of pear, rose and white musk.

If that’s not enough, toddlers can enjoy a three-step skincare routine using an £80 cleanser, £80 foam and a £95 moisturizing milk to soothe their already soft skin afterwards.

In addition to the scented water, the skincare routine will cost parents £485, but it also comes with pretty bottles to brighten up the nursery.

Bonne Etoile, which costs £230, is designed to perfume the faces and bodies of little ones and is the centerpiece of the collection.

Francis Kurkdjian, creative director of Dior Perfume, created the perfume and Cordelia de Castellane, artistic director of Baby Dior, designed the bottles.

The pastel bottles come in green or pink and feature images of hot air balloons and whimsical gardens, ideal for young children.

“The pastel-colored bottle of Bonne Étoile is decorated with an imaginary and fantastic garden of Granville, with a menagerie and colorful hot air balloons, a Toile de Jouy pattern specially created for the occasion,” the website says.

It continued: ‘More than a fragrant water, it is an object imbued with reverie that can be personalized with the colored ribbon of your choice to accompany your child as his lucky star.’

The fragrance is said to be formulated without alcohol and with mainly ingredients of natural origin.

“It is a childhood memory that comes to life in soft notes of pear, wild rose and white musk,” says Dior Baby.

And as if the premium perfume doesn’t exude enough luxury, the fashion house has also added the option for consumers to personalize the bottle with a colored ribbon in any shade.

It comes after the much-anticipated Christmas gift guide was released on Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop website – and also featured expensive skincare for kids.

The Goop Kid’s gift guide, published last month, featured a £100 Barbra Sturm ‘Baby & Kids Body Set’, specially designed for children with sensitive skin.

But perhaps it was the ‘Ridiculous But Awesome’ gift guide that was the most extravagant.

There are ten lists of Goop gift ideas to choose from, sure to take care of the discerning giftee in your life—including kids, chefs, lovers, and travelers—but there’s always one Gwynnie list that takes the spotlight of the year every year. Christmas shopping steals.

And this year’s ‘Ridiculous But Awesome’ list on the Hollywood star’s lifestyle website doesn’t disappoint – it’s packed with 25 items you didn’t know you needed, and almost certainly can’t afford .

There’s a $2,000 Planar Studio Gong and Stand, which “rings with a clear, deep tone like heavy thunder.” And a $15,000 Inez Gold G-Spot vibrator that promises 24-karat and “an impressively powerful, rumbling motor.”

While cheese lovers may be tempted to sample Goop’s “Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, Aged 24 Months,” they’ll likely be put off by the $396 price tag, even though it comes from “Valserena Soladibruna, the oldest dairy in Parma.”

Those on a budget should check out ‘The Under $100 Gift Guide’, which features gifts that are no less outlandish, but on the more affordable end of the spectrum.

In addition to a hand-blown Italian glass ornament – or a Christmas bauble – for $55, there’s a SmartRope – a jump rope that tracks your jump count – for $79.95.

Unfortunately, an $18 budget won’t get you much further than a few sheets of Suzani Botanical wrapping paper, while Goop’s Secret Tea Story Set — 27 tea bags in assorted flavors — costs $75.

Those looking for an athletic friend or family member may be tempted by a solid wood home gym from Gwyneth’s personal trainer, Tracy Anderson, which costs $2,629.

Or, if that seems a bit extravagant, how about a leather tennis racket cover in navy blue for $805?

In addition to the ‘wellness’ list, the Shakespeare in Love actress has also put together a ‘Lover’s Gift Guide’ with a range of gifts that can spice up the bedroom.

The $119 Wave shower head, which “doubles as a clitoral stimulator,” sits next to the $165.00 Vesper 2 vibrator, a chain that “has a secret: it’s also a vibrator.”

“A bouncy, compressible sex pillow” is also being offered for the 2023 holiday season. Available in two colors, it costs $195.

For those who really want to surprise this Christmas, ‘The Forward-to-Your-SO Gift Guide’ will not disappoint.

In addition to the $13,995 Rolex Lady-Datejust 26mm model 179168, it comes with a $7,950 Chanel tweed bag that “strikes the perfect balance between playful and ladylike.”

And let’s not forget the children. The ‘cute and comfy’ Zeitgeist Baby Carrier retails for $420.00, while slightly older kids have the chance to stand out with a Rattan Mushroom Luggy for $120.

If that’s not enough for your little one, Gwyneth has plenty more suggestions in store, the most notable of which is an ice charm necklace.

But at $811.00, there may be more kids than parents clamoring for ice cream this winter.
