New Delhi: When England take on Australia in the five-game Ashes 2023 series, their batting line-up will undoubtedly come under scrutiny. Under the inspiring leadership of Brendon McCullum, Ben Stokes’ men have revolutionized Test cricket with an ultra-aggressive batting approach dubbed “Bazball”. This will see the English take center stage, but to win a series the bowlers must also perform admirably.

Similarly, former England captain Nasser Hussain saw pacer Ollie Robinson as one of the guys to keep an eye on. Hussain praised the 29-year-old for his pinpoint accuracy and his ability to take wickets in a variety of conditions.

During an interaction, Nasser Hussain told ICC:

“If you look at any cricket Ollie Robinson has played, it’s been phenomenal. His County stats, his International stats, home, away, Duke ball, Kookaburra ball. He’s just taking wickets for fun”.

“If he’s fit, keep an eye on Ollie Robinson. He really exploded on stage. Can’t make many runs, is accurate and bowls a good length for England. He said.

The Kent-born sailor has 66 wickets at an average of 21.27 in his 16 Tests. He missed the Ireland test due to injury but has been included in England’s XI for the first test.

When Ollie Robinson predicted England could win the 2023 Ashes against Australia. Hussain, on the other hand, believes that this was just a lead-in to the series and that the actual war begins on the ground.

“It’s just part of the build up,” Hussain said. “The battle doesn’t start until that first ball really goes down.” said the former England captain.

“Predictions and banter, and talking back and forth, you may talk, but make sure you get out and walk the walk, that’s basically the principle in Ash’s battle,” he concluded.

The first Ashes Test will be played in Edgbaston, where Australia beat England by a whopping 251 runs the last time the two teams met in 2019.
