What is Eroxon gel?

Eroxon gel is a new treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED), the condition characterized by the inability to get or maintain an erection.

It is suitable for men aged 18 and over, with both mild and severe forms of impotence.

The gel is the first over-the-counter topical treatment for erectile dysfunction available without a prescription.

The gel is safe and effective as a treatment for impotence, as shown in two phase three clinical trials.

During the first twelve-week trial period, 250 men used the gel.

After twelve weeks, 63 percent of volunteers showed a significant improvement in their erectile function.

Three out of five erections attributed to Eroxon happened within ten minutes of using the gel.

The second trial confirmed these findings.

Dr. David Ralph, consultant urologist at UCLH, said: “The efficacy of Eroxon is remarkable and approaches the efficacy of current first-line therapy, but with significantly lower side effects.

“When applied topically, it will be especially attractive to mild to moderate ED patients who want a quick effect.”

Very few side effects were reported during the studies, with headache, nausea and skin irritation being the only ones mentioned by volunteers.

The gel is approved for use in Europe and Britain for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, but it is recommended that users read the package leaflet before using it and consult their doctor if they have any concerns.

About one in four men under the age of 40 experience erectile dysfunction.

This number is believed to double in older age groups.

How does Eroxon gel work?

Eroxon gel is designed to be applied just before sex.

It only works when a man is sexually aroused.

A pea-sized amount is applied to the glans for about 15 seconds.

The gel stimulates the nerve endings of the penis through a process of rapid cooling of the head, followed by a gradual warming effect.

The result is increased blood flow to the penis and an erection.

TV doctor Hilary Jones was an adviser to the Eroxon Information Panel and said the drug could prove a game-changer.

Dr. Jones said: “Eroxon offers a breakthrough for sexual wellbeing.

“Eroxon gel ensures that sexual spontaneity remains intact thanks to the speed of action.

“Previous ED treatments can take up to an hour to work, potentially destroying intimacy.

“Plus, super studies show that almost 50 percent of men have actually given up their use.”

Is Eroxon gel available in the UK?

In April 2023, Eroxon gel became available in the UK and Ireland.

You must be over 18 years old to purchase the treatment, but unlike other erectile dysfunction treatments, it does not require a prescription.

This means that those dealing with erectile dysfunction don't have to wait for an appointment with their doctor like you have to for a prescription for Viagra.
