Evil Joshua Jacques gets life sentence after killing girlfriend Samantha Drummonds and members of her family in ‘sacrifice’
A vicious killer has been jailed for life after killing his girlfriend and three members of her family.
Joshua Jacques is serving a minimum of 46 years for the brutal stabbings of his partner Samantha Drummonds, 27, her mother Tanysha Ofori-Akuffo, 45, grandmother Dolet Hill, 64, and her partner Denton Burke, 58.
Jacques claimed he stabbed all four family members to death as part of a “sacrifice”.
His frenzied attack in Bermondsey, South Londonon April 24, 2022, was fueled by drugs and alcohol.
The Old Bailey heard that Samantha had called her friend on the morning of the horror with concerns about her friend’s mental state.
In a voice message left around 11:30 a.m., she said, “Josh is actually getting to the point where he might actually be having an episode, like I don’t know what triggered him.”
Around 7:25 p.m., jurors heard her tell her friend that they were trying to get medication to calm Jacques down.
Samantha then spoke to her boyfriend more than two hours later to say “he seems calm now”, it was said.
The court heard how Denton was found the next morning Police also discovered at the bottom of the stairs with one or more knives.
The three women were then found dead in the kitchen with multiple stab wounds.
Jacques, from Lewisham, south-east London, previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter and denied murder.
But today the Old Bailey sentenced him to life in prison for all four murders.
