A BABY has died and two women and a man have been injured after a horrific head-on crash in Leeds.

A 54-year-old man was arrested after the four-month-old boy died yesterday on Horsforth New Road near Rodley, West Yorkshire.

Was involved in the tragic car accident Opel The Vivaro van was traveling north when it collided head-on with a Toyota Auris.

The incident happened on February 12 at around 4.55pm on the A1620 bypass between Calverley and Rodley.

As a result, a four-month-old boy had to fight for his life with dangerous injuries.

He was then rushed to hospital, where he tragically died on Wednesday.

Two women from the Toyota and a man from the Vivaro were also taken to hospital for treatment.

Road workers had to completely close the road around the area while emergency services attended to the collision.

A 54 year old man the driving De Vivaro has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

As investigations continue, he was released on bail yesterday.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to provide valuable information about the incident.
