The boys, aged between 12 and 14, were arrested on Sunday following a bust “Female child” was allegedly attacked.

Police said today they are now investigating a second attack on a schoolgirl from the same evening.

Greater Manchester Police said officers drove to the Newbold supermarket parking lot on Saturday around 6 p.m.

The following day, four boys, a 12 and 13 year old and two 14 year olds, were taken into custody – where they remained until this morning.

Police said this evening that the boys have been released on bail, while the two victims are being “taken to safety”.

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Key said; “As with all sexual crime investigations, victims remain our priority and we have dedicated specialist resources available to support them and their families as the investigation progresses.

“We understand that an incident of this nature will undoubtedly cause concern among the community.

“This is why we continue to have an increased visible presence in the area for reassurance, working with key partner agencies, as well as additional resources from our Specialist Operations Department patrolling local areas. transport nodes and networks.

'I would encourage anyone who has concerns to speak to them.

“The four suspects arrested this weekend have been released on bail under strict conditions. We continue to liaise with the CPS to ensure the investigation moves towards prosecution. I can assure victims and our communities that securing justice is our priority.
