Ghaziabad couple torture woman to death with knife and stick, play loud music to distract neighbours

New Delhi: A 23-year-old woman was allegedly tortured to death by her relatives after they suspected her of stealing jewelery in Ghaziabad. She died after being attacked with a knife and rods.

Samina, 23, was visiting her relatives – Heena and Ramesh – at their home in Siddharth Vihar in Ghaziabad. Samina was invited to attend Heena and Ramesh’s son’s birthday party and jewelery worth Rs 5 lakh went missing from the couple’s house. The couple suspected that Samina stole the jewelry and they tortured her for a “confession,” according to a report from NDTV. The pair had also played loud music to muffle her screams as they tortured her.

They also slashed parts of her body with a knife and played loud music so the neighbors wouldn’t hear her scream. “The suspect played loud music so that Samina’s screams would not be heard. Neighbors alerted us after the music continued to play non-stop for two days. The investigation is ongoing,” Assistant Commissioner of Police Ravi Kumar said in the report.

The suspect left the crime scene after the woman died and kept up the loud music. Police say they are working to arrest the suspect.
