A man has died after being shot in broad daylight in a brutal shooting.

Emergency services were called to Granville’s Factory St, western Sydney, at 4:26pm on Sunday with reports of a shooting.

NSW Ambulance and police rushed to the scene where they found the injured man, believed to be in his 40s, bleeding profusely.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man died on the spot.

A major police operation is now underway as the street has now been cordoned off to investigate the incident.

“Investigations are ongoing after a man was shot dead in western Sydney today,” a statement from NSW Police said.

Upon arrival, Cumberland Police Area Command officers found a man with a gunshot wound.

Despite the best efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, the man died at the scene.

“A crime scene has been identified and the circumstances of the incident are under investigation.

Police are calling on anyone with information about the incident to contact police immediately.
