New Delhi: Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya offered to play Rs 5 lakh to get his shows back during his marriage to Natasha Stankovic, the video of which has recently gone viral on social media. Hardik and Natasha have been married since 2020 but committed to retaking their wedding vows on Valentine’s Day earlier this year, but in a grand way.

In the YouTube video posted by Natasha, Hardik’s sister-in-law Pankhuri demanded Rs 1 lakh for returning his shoes as part of the traditional ‘jhuta churai’. In return, Hardik asked a person to transfer Rs 5 lakh.

“You say, how much do you want?” Hardik Pankhuri was seen asking. The Indian all-rounder then asked someone from the audience to transfer the money and said, “She had only asked for Rs 1 lakh, but I gave Rs 5 lakh.” Meanwhile, Natasha laughed throughout the conversation.

Pankhuri said she will not return the shoes until the money is transferred. Jhuta churai is part of the culture in traditional weddings in a part of India where the sister-in-law playfully steals the groom’s shoes and demands money or gifts in return.

As for Hardik’s cricket, the Indian cricketer is taking a break after IPL 2023 where he led his franchise Gujarat Titans to the finals before losing to Chennai Super Kings. He will be seen in the colors of India against the West Indies in the Caribbean next month.

India will play two Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is against the West Indies from July 12. Hardik is likely to lead the Indian team in T20Is as some seniors are expected to rest.
