A heartless mother left her seven-year-old son in an unheated flat for two years, forcing him to live on stolen tomatoes to survive.

Alexandra Oger, 39, was convicted of leaving the boy behind while she moved in with her friend Charlene Muller, who is not charged with wrongdoing, and her two children.

The child, now a teenager, was forced to fend for himself between 2020 and 2022, eating canned food and tomatoes stolen from a neighbor's planters.

Passing sentence, Judge Ancelin Nouaille told the heartless mother: “The evidence is overwhelming. You failed your son.”

Meanwhile, the abandoned child and his older siblings appear in posts on their mother's bizarre social media feeds.

But while her son lived on his own, she shared photos of the children she co-parented with Muller, but not of her own two boys.

Her online biography reads: “My family, my happiness is all that matters. I love you very much.”

Oger has also posted photos of himself with Muller, and it is believed the two had a civil wedding ceremony, as a photo of wedding rings was shared in 2019.

The feed is also flooded with selfies of couples, most of them in some sort of romantic filter.

In one message written in the summer from 2018, Oger wrote: “Every family has one history. Welcome to ours,” to which Muller replied, “I love you, my love.”

Another message read: “Family is where life begins and where love never ends.”

The evidence is overwhelming. You failed your son.”

A neighbor opposite the second-floor apartment where the boy lived told the story MailOnline: “I've lived here for 18 years and she moved in around 2019, just before that Covid.

'She was here with two boys, an older one and a younger one, and then suddenly I stopped seeing the older boy and heard that he had gone to live with his father.

“I saw the little one very rarely. I don't go out much and I saw the mother come by every now and then with a bag of groceries.”

They continued, “I had no idea the boy was there alone.

“He was always so well looked after when I saw him and it's incredible to think that this happened.

“It was the ground floor neighbor who raised the alarm after they caught the boy stealing tomatoes from planters outside the flat.

“I haven't seen the mother for a while. The first time anyone knew anything was when the police came asking and now I know she has moved with her new partner, a woman, to a village 5km away.”

According to neighbors, the couple are now co-parenting three other children, one of whom was born via artificial insemination, it was claimed.
