Tesco shoppers are hailing the 'amazing' new hot cross bun flavor to hit shelves

TESCO shoppers are raving about the store's new take on a classic British treat.

They say the product “changed the hot cross bun game” and call it “great flipping.”

Tesco has launched a strawberry and clotted cream flavored bun with “rich white chocolate chips” – and cross bun connoisseurs can't get enough.

“Yummy,” said one customer.

“I have to try this one,” wrote another.

A third said: “I'll try these bad boys.”

But a fourth wasn't a fan: “Just because it has a cross on it, don't make it a hot crotch bun.

“Stop messing with the originals and call them something else.”

Announcing the new flavor, one Facebook user wrote, “TESCO has changed the Hot Cross Bun game lately!

“Especially with this one! Strawberry, Clotted Cream and White Chocolate flavour!”

“If I remember correctly, this was £1.20 on the club card!”

They added that this isn't the only variation of the classic hot cross bun to hit shelves recently.

Those with a sweet tooth are spoiled for choice with the “flipping awesome” salted caramel, blueberry, lemon and white chocolate rolls on offer.

It comes as foodies rush to M&S to try their new cheesy hot cross bun.

Marks & Spencer's Extremely Cheesy sandwiches are flying off the shelves – with some people calling them “the best I've ever tasted”.

The butter enriched sandwiches are made with cheddar and red Leicester cheeses and come in a pack of four for £2.

Gi took over TikTok to share a slideshow of photos of the M&S food she would “sell her soul for”.

“These hot cross buns are the best I have ever tasted,” she wrote.

“They live rent-free in my head all year round!”
