The Facebook post was flooded with helpful answers to the user's riddle.

One user shared a suggestion, which they say works better than bleach.

They said: “I make a solution of citric acid (40g citric acid in 60g water) and spray all over the shower; glass doors, seals etc.

“Leave it as long as possible, overnight or longer.

“Then rinse it off before showering.

“Citric acid is the only thing I know of that kills mold spores, not even bleach does this.

“Using a stiff brush when grouting can also help remove mold stains over time.

“The seals can be replaced if necessary.”

Black mold is a fungus that grows in warm, wet conditions such as the bathroom.

Mold can build up for a variety of reasons, such as leaky pipes, poor insulation, or if the condensation is not wiped away after you shower.

It is important to remove mold as it can cause many health problems.

According to the NHS, black mold can lead to asthma attacks, allergic reactions and infections.

When removing black mold, it is important to protect yourself by using rubber gloves and a mask that covers your nose and mouth.

Citric acid is a natural substance extracted from citrus fruits.

When it comes into contact with fungi it penetrates the cell walls and kills the fungi.

Citric acid is extremely cheap and can be bought from B&Q for just £2.25.
