However, another clip from the lunch that went viral is the irresistible Christmas cake, flamed by Ranbir Kapoor. Some are laughing at Alia Bhatt’s anxious reaction, and a section of the media is wondering how Ranbir Kapoor’s chocolate whiskey cake looked both tasty and exciting. An Instagram influencer Sneha Sanghi Upadhayay recently gave a step-by-step guide on how to prepare Ranbir Kapoor’s special Christmas chocolate flame cake. Sharing her video, she wrote, “Looks like Ranbir is definitely flambéing a pound cake with cognac, but since it’s not Christmas anymore and I wanted something chocolatey, I went with this one. It’s easy to make and tastes OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!”

How do you prepare the chocolate flame cake?

Ingredients

For a 1 pound to 6 inch cake pan, 1 cup/200 g sugar
1 cup/220 g milk
1 tablespoon/15 g vinegar
6 tablespoons/65 g oil
1 teaspoon/6 g baking soda
1.5 cups / 210 g flour – Maida
1/4 cup/20 g cocoa powder

Mix sugar and milk, add oil, vanilla, vinegar and then all the dry ingredients.
Bake at 180*C for 30-40 minutes. Once it has cooled, unmold it.

Ganache
1 cup/200 g dark chocolate
3/4 cup 150 g cream

  • Melt both together in the microwave at 30 second intervals. If you wish, you can also add 50 ml of whiskey to the ganache after mixing the warm cream and chocolate.
  • Cover the cake with the ganache, you can also layer the cake by cutting it horizontally from the center and adding ganache. Once done, let it cool until ready to serve.
  • Pour the whiskey over the cake and light it.
    You can also pour the whiskey into a bowl, light it first and then pour it over the cake.
  • Whiskey substitute – Rum/cognac/vodka/brandy or any other alcohol content over 40%.
