A mother under fire for leaving her husband and child behind for a luxury holiday has defended herself, saying life must go on after having children.

Turkish influencer Burcu Kaldirim has also refused to change her ways and give up her hobby as she plans her next retreat.

She was first criticized after announcing she was going on a “girls' holiday”. Morocco without her husband.

“I would love to do that, and leave my husband to his mother's care,” another hit.

However, Burcu responded to the criticism and denounced the discrimination and pressure that others placed on women.

“Society tries to define us this way… Why?” she responded.

“Whether you have children or not, you don't have to give up on your dreams. We don't have to fight for our dreams to be ourselves.

“We don't have to feel guilty. Just because we got married, had children, divorced, or chose a different path, we don't have to fit into a certain mold or label.

“I hope we can raise generations that respect everyone's lives and choices.”
