An American man who was challenged to try food at various British restaurant chains filmed his first experience of visiting Nando's.

@kalanighosthunter uploaded a video to his account on TikTok delving into a list of dishes at the popular peri peri chicken joint.

After making his own homemade chicken sandwich at the suggestion of a viewer, Kalani said it “burys” a top fast food chain that is popular around the world.

After ordering a butterfly chicken with garlic bread, fries and halloumi, the vlogger puts together his own sandwich, placing the chicken and halloumi between the pieces of garlic bread.

Kalani adds extra sauce to the sandwich after his bite and nods happily before revealing that he thinks it “burys KFC,” adding that it was “not even in the same ballpark.”

Summing up his review, Kalani gave his experience at Nando's an 'eight out of ten'.

He spoke highly of the chicken, which he described as 'juicy and nicely seasoned', adding that the brand's signature peri peri sauce was a 'nice touch'.

Moving on to the fries, he said they had 'a good level of crispiness' but scored them slightly less favorably than the chicken, giving the fries a 'six and a half' out of ten.

While other users were keen to point Kalani in the direction of other traditional British foods, one noticed the lack of the signature Nando's sauce on his meal, commenting: 'That needs a layer of perinaise on both garlic rolls'.

A second urged him to try the Cockney classic of pie and mash, writing: 'A traditional pie and mash shop is a must.

“You must have liquor, no gravy, and lots of vinegar and pepper.”

Another wrote: 'While you're here you must try our full English breakfast.'

A fourth added: 'Try Percy Pig sweets and a Colin the Caterpillar cake from Marks & Spencer.'
