I’m a jet-setter and was turned away from famous sights in Rome because of my outfit – they said my dress was inappropriate, but I thought it was cute

A woman has warned travelers in Rome not to “show their breasts” after she was banned from several tourist attractions because of her choice of clothing.

Jacki Hodge, 26, from Australia, went to TikTok to explain that her white mini dress, which had no back and had cutouts across the bodice, had caused quite a stir.

She said the “sl**ty” dress looked great in photos but was far from ideal as she was turned away from some of Italy’s most famous monuments, including the Vatican and Pantheon.

She advised others not to “dress like ah**” and to make sure their outfits covered their knees – but for the stubborn fashionistas, she suggested wearing a robe or scarf.

The viral clip has been viewed nearly a whopping 2 million times, with many taking to the comments to berate Jacki for not knowing any better.

Jacki explained, “So if anyone plans to wear this kind of cute thing in Europe, listen up.”

Pointing to a still image of her casual summer dress, she added, “It looks fantastic in photos.”

“But on this day in Rome I couldn’t get into the Pantheon, I couldn’t get into the Vatican.

“I couldn’t get into this kind of museum of dead people because I was too ‘sl**ty’ dressed.

She then discussed her understanding of the perfect dress code, which includes covering your shoulders.

She continued, “You can’t have your shoulders, you can’t have your breasts, you certainly can’t have any cutouts, and the dress had no back.

“So irritating that I didn’t have a scarf or coat or something with me. That would have been fine if you want to pack something like that.

“I had been to many monuments before, so I thought, whatever, I’ll just wait outside with my friends.

‘But in the death museum thing too, you also had to cover your knees so yes’.

Many viewers took to the comment section to berate Jacki about her choice of outfit for a 'religious building'

She said people should be “tired” when choosing their travel wardrobe, and that some shops sold bathrobes ready in case of a similar mistake.

The self-titled jet-setter drew comments of derision from those who felt her choice of outfit for a “religious building” should have been more modest.

One person replied, “I feel like people refuse to do research before going to places like this.

‘I’ve been to Rome, the first thing I read was appropriate clothing for churches’.

Another person said, “If you want to go into a church, you actually dress like you’re going to a church.”

A third agreed: ‘This is not really a general European rule. It’s only if you visit religious buildings/sites and even then it can be rare’.

A fourth said: ‘Quite common in many religious buildings. We visited a Hindu temple in Fiji and people who were not covered had to wear scarves.”

Meanwhile, one person asked, “How do people not know this? Laugh out loud’.

The influencer has made a name for himself by traveling the world and visiting countries such as Croatia, Nepal and Myanmar.
