The 36-year-old is believed to be the tallest man in the state of Punjab, home to an estimated 31 million people.

The gigantic man towers over people at an impressive height of 2.80 meters in a country where the average height for a man is 1.80 meters.

Sukhdev also weighs 29 pounds and must wear size 25 shoes.

Growing up, he always stood out from the crowd, surpassing the height of his peers at a young age.

The farmer says his unusual growth spurt is down to a daily intake of ten pints of milk.

Although he believes his tall height is “gifted by God”, it also comes with disadvantages.

Sukhdev cannot walk into a shop to pick out an outfit, but has to order it to be specially sewn by a tailor.

Custom-made garments can also be a costly expense, as each tunic requires as much as nine yards of fabric.

Shoes are another thing that the man struggles with because he has to buy custom-made shoes for his 17-inch long feet.

Apart from dressing, the farmer encounters problems when he wants to use any form of transport.

But the disadvantages of being too tall are mitigated by the fame and attention Sukhdev enjoys.

He became a local celebrity and people often stopped him on the street get it a selfie.

Some even travel from far away to take a photo with the giant man.

Sukhdev may be the tallest farmer and perhaps the tallest man in India, but he has not yet broken the record of being the tallest in the world.

The title holder of the Guinness records is a Turkish man, Sultan Kossenwhich stands at 8ft 3in.

He previously revealed that as a youngster he had a tumor that affected his pituitary gland, causing him to suffer from gigantism and acromegaly.

Sultan is one of only ten confirmed cases in the country history of someone who grows 2.5 meters or taller.

Brahim Takioullah, van Moroccoand Morteza Mehrzad van Iran tie for second tallest living man at 2.40 metres.

About 50 living people have been measured at a height of 2 meters 50 or higher.

Sultan was given the title of the world’s tallest living man in 2009 when he stood 2.80 meters tall at the age of 26. Since then he has grown another two inches.

The tallest man ever was American Robert Wadlow, who reached an incredible height of 8′ 11.1.

His exceptional size was caused by hyperplasia of his pituitary gland, which caused abnormally high levels of human growth hormone.

The Dinka people of South Sudan are believed to have some of the tallest people in the world, partly due to their high milk intake.
