In Rajasthan, neither Dalits, backward or poor women, nor women are safe: PM Modi

Udaipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a public meeting in Udaipur ahead of the Assembly elections in Rajasthan. While addressing the gathering, he slammed the ruling Congress party and stated that neither Dalits, backward classes, the poor nor women are safe in Rajasthan. He claimed that the Congress party has made Rajasthan the number one state in terms of crime against women. “Today in Rajasthan, neither Dalits, backward or poor, nor women are safe. The Congress has made Rajasthan number 1 in crime against women. The Congress government has been a total failure in curbing crimes against women. What is shameful is that when it comes to law and order, Congress ministers scoff and say, ‘Ye mardon ka pradesh hai’… You have insulted not only the women but also the men of Rajasthan… Your ministers use such language shamelessly in front of everyone. This is the real mentality of the Congress…,” he said.

He accused the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government in Rajasthan of “sympathy for terrorists”. He also spoke about the murder of tailor Kanhaiya Lal Teli in Udaipur last year. Notably, Lal was murdered by Riyaz Attari and Ghous Mohammed for supporting former BJP leader Nupur Sharma’s comments on Prophet Mohammed.

“Under the tenure of the Congress, incidents happen to the people that disgrace humanity. The Kanhaiya Lal terror incident in Udaipur is a big blot on the Congress and it happened because the Congress sympathized with terrorists,” Modi said at a rally in Udaipur.

While further attacking the grand old party, he alleged that terrorist organizations like PFI are fearlessly holding rallies in the state under her tenure.

“There is a Congress government here, so terrorist organizations like PFI are fearlessly organizing rallies. Terror sympathizer’s government will destroy Rajasthan. Shall we let Rajasthan be destroyed?” he asked. “Stories of the migration of the poor are coming in from various areas in Rajasthan. If the Congress government continues here, this will increase further.”

The Prime Minister also slammed the Rajasthan government stating that it has wasted five years of the people of Rajasthan.

“The Congress government was busy deciding who would sit on the CM’s chair and wasted five years of Rajasthan,” Modi said. “In this battle for the chairman, Congress did not care about public issues.”

Prime Minister Modi showed his confidence that the BJP will win the Lok Sabha elections.

“India will certainly be among the three largest economies of the world during my third term,” he said. “If Rajasthan also wants to benefit from this rapid development of India, it is necessary that the country has a BJP government.”

Elections to the 200-member assembly in Rajasthan are scheduled to be held on November 25. The votes will be counted on December 3.
