She was found guilty together with her accomplice Eddie Ratcliffeboth now 16, who exchanged text messages for weeks planning Brianna's “savage” attack.

The pair was named on Manchester Crown Court Friday after a judge lifted reporting restrictions on identifying them.

They were given life sentences today, with Jenkinson serving a minimum of 22 years Ratcliffe 20 years.

Before sentencing, judge heard Mrs Justice Yip Jenkinson confess for the first time Stabbing Brianna herself.

Brianna suffered stab wounds to her head, neck, chest and back, as well as defensive cuts to her arms.

The sick and twisted Jenkinson, who was obsessed with serial killers, revealed the knife was “satisfying and exciting”.

Chilling notebooks found in the teen's bedroom showed detailed pages of the horrors wrought by Jeffrey Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy and Richard Ramirez.

She scoured the dark web for real-life images of torture and murder and wrote a list of ten 'types of serial killers' – including the characteristics they have in common.

Other notes include facts about Harold Shipman, a British doctor who was convicted of murdering 15 but believed to have murdered 250 people, and a mind map about what it takes to be evil.

Jenkinson's disturbing fanatical mentality caused her to “blur the boundaries of reality,” giving her the urge to kill.

In texts exchanged between the two killers, Jenkinson told Ratcliffe that she wanted to take body parts and flesh from Brianna as a souvenir.

Hours before the murder, she had seen Sweeney Todd “for the nine thousandth time”, a film about a barber who slits the necks of his clients.

Shortly after her tearful arrestthe notes found in her room revealed the obsessive mentality she had about inflicting pain.

Jenkinson and Ratcliffe lured Brianna to Linear Park in Warringtonin February last year.

They were carrying a £13.50 hunting knife that Ratcliffe had bought on a family skiing holiday.

Jenkinson remained emotionless as she was put behind bars on Friday.

At sentencing, Judge Yip said the murder was “brutal” and “sadistic” and that a secondary motive was Brianna's transgender identity.

The judge added: “Brianna was only 16 years old. She had her whole life ahead of her.

“This case is unusual and has shocked the public.”

Manchester Crown Court was told Jenkinson had a “deep desire to kill”.

The sadistic killer, who was still on a “death list” in a secure accommodation, told her lawyers she had “grabbed” her co-killer's knife and slashed her “repeatedly”.

Deanna Heer KC, prosecuting, said: “She said Eddie threw Brianna to the ground and stabbed her three or four times then he panicked and said he didn't want to kill her so she went ahead and stabbed her a few times.

“When asked how much, she replied: 'A lot.' She was happy and excited about what she was doing.”

In a emotional victim impact statementBrianna's mother Esther Ghey said she believes the couple are still a danger to society.

The mother added: “I don't believe someone so disturbed and obsessed with murder and torture could ever be rehabilitated.

“I have moments where I feel sorry for them because they ruined their own lives too, but I have to remember that they felt no empathy for Brianna when they left her bleeding after their premeditated and brutal attack, which was carried out not because Brianna had done something wrong, but just because one person hated trans people and the other thought it would be fun.”

While Brianna's father described her killers as “some monsters” who “need to be forgotten.”

Peter Spooner said the “brutality” of her murder left him with a sense of “complete and utter horror”.
