Isla Fisher Teases Getting 'Close' to Making a 'Wedding Crashers' Sequel

“There have been conversations where we were quite close,” Fisher, 47, revealed E! News on Tuesday, January 23.
Fisher noted that her former costars Vince Vaughn And Owen Wilson “have such incredible chemistry” that viewers can “feel” while watching. “It's palpable and it's its own hilarious beast,” she explained, confessing that she's a fan of the comedy duo. “I want to see them in front of the camera again doing what they do best.”

When it comes to stepping back into the role of Vaughn's screen girlfriend (and eventual wife), Fisher is all in. “She's such a fun character,” Fisher said of Gloria. “It's also so rare to be a woman in a comedy where you can make jokes and not just be the straight man.”
The actress added that she keeps in touch with her former castmates, suggesting some stars are “still keen” to make a sequel. “Fingers crossed we make another one,” she said. “It would be such a nice way to all get back together.”
In the 2005 film, Vaughn, 53, and Wilson, 55, played longtime BFFs and womanizers Jeremy Gray and John Beckwith, respectively. The serial wedding crashers get more than they bargained for when John falls in love with Claire Cleary (Rachel mcadams) while posing as distant relatives of the bride and groom during a ceremony.
Jeremy, meanwhile, becomes entangled with Claire's sister Gloria, and the pair eventually marry. The film ends with the foursome joking about crashing a wedding as a group with wild alter egos.

Over the years, the cast – which was also part – has grown Will Ferrell, Bradley Cooper, Christopher Walken And Jane Seymour – has hinted at a second project. In November 2020, Vaughn confirmed that something was in the works.
“Owen and I and the director of Crashers talked seriously for the first time [about] a sequel to that movie,” he shared Entertainment tonight at the time. “An idea has emerged that is quite good. So we are already talking about that in the initial phase.”
The following year, Wilson weighed in on the possibility of a new film, saying, “I think if the people rise up and demand it, who are we to say no?”
Wilson explained during an August 2021 episode Esquire's “Explain This” that he and Vaughn were already brainstorming story ideas.
“I really think Vince and I talked about when this [coronavirus] The pandemic is ending, which might cause some real-life weddings to crash just to celebrate the return to normalcy,” Wilson joked. “Maybe we can get some inspiration from that.”
