Janhvi Kapoor to replace Alia Bhatt in Dulhania series? Karan Johar breaks the silence
Recently, a report claimed that Janhvi Kapoor will replace Alia Bhatt in Dulhania 3. However, Karan Johar recently opened up about the issue.
Whether that was the case Badri Ki Dulhania or Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania both films proved to be a huge hit among audiences. Now the report claims that Dhulhania 3 is working. However, there were a lot of speculations that Dharma Productions will not consider Alia Bhatt as the female lead now and instead, the production has already roped in Janhvi Kapoor to fill Alia’s shoes in the third film.
According to information from PeepingMoon.com, Janhvi will play the role of the new ‘Dulhania‘ in the franchise. While the reason why Alia is not reprising her role in the hit series remains uncertain, there is speculation that her busy schedule in 2024 could conflict with the 2024 plans. Dulhania 3.
Now, Karan Johar has spoken out on the issue and refuted the claims. The filmmaker said all reports are just conjecture and untrue. On Instagram, KJo wrote: “Every morning I wake up to the news that has no official confirmation from Dharma Productions… I would like to ask members of the media to please not speculate about the continuation of a franchise or its beginning!”
“We will provide details when the time and plans are formulated and fertilized! We are humbled by the excitement our future films are showing, but would like accuracy rather than speculation… Respectfully, Karan Johar,” the director added.
The news comes after several reports surfaced online claiming that Shashank Khaitan is returning as director Dulhania 3. The report stated: “Dulhania 3 will have a different plot and different characters and is in no way connected to the previous parts, just like the approach taken Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Pre-production for the film has already started and will go on floors in the coming months.”
Interestingly, the announcement coincides with Karan’s recent hint that Janhvi has an important project in store, which he and Janhvi have not discussed. Karan dropped the hint during the latest episode of Koffee With Karan 8, just hours before the report surfaced.
