Jason Sudeikis was the special guest on Monday’s Christmas episode of the Bird and Taurisi Show.

The actor, 48, who performed a duet with Ted Lasso co-star Hannah Waddingham at a benefit concert, looked very festive in green with a red and white Santa hat.

“Luckily I had this Buddy the Elf onesie with me,” he told former pro basketball players Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi.

The pair were put in charge of the NBA’s alt cast before the holidays, following the success of their commentary during the final four NCAA women’s tournaments of 2022 and 2023.

Jason joined the show from his home in New York and had two very special guests of his own: son Otis, nine, and daughter Daisy, seven.

“That’s Daisy, that’s Otis,” he said proudly pointing to his offspring. These are the elves of the elves.”

Like many kids meeting strangers for the first time, Jason’s was pretty quiet at first and even disappeared from the screen while Jason, Sue and Diana discussed the New York Knicks vs. Milwaukee Bucks.

However, when the Fool’s Paradise actor mentioned a “good line” Otis made about Knicks player Jalen Brunson — “I really like his face,” the boy said, “He looks like he’s been to war” — both were children are back in action and ready for some attention.

After revealing what Santa brought them – a PS5 for Otis and a gray and white stuffed dog for Daisy, the kids started joking as Daisy told the people at home to subscribe.

My dad quickly interrupted that and explained, “Come on guys, we ain’t shilling,” before quickly grabbing the dog and saying, “Here, go get it, get it” as he tried to shake them off camera.

The Hit-Monkey actor then revealed that his favorite gift was motorized suitcases for the kids.

“They brought them through the airport and I didn’t have to wait for them, I didn’t have to carry their backpacks and they are the gift that will keep on giving until they are too big to use them, which never happens,” he said.

The kids just hung around while their dad tried to talk basketball, but to no avail. “I wish I could blame this on Christmas,” he told his hosts.

Diana and Sue played some clips of Timberwolves’ assistant coach Micah Nori, who uses some Lasso-like analogies to describe games. “I think I know what our Ted Lasso writers have been doing since we left off season three, just shooting this guy off the line, you know… they needed a vessel for these kinds of pearls.”

“If something happens on his end or on our end, he definitely has a spot in the writers’ room for us,” he said.
