Patna: KC Tyagi, a JD-U leader, recently expressed his views on seat-sharing within the INDIA bloc. His stand is that the JDU and RJD have a strong base in Bihar that is capable of challenging the dominance of the BJP. The duo won sixteen seats in the last elections and do not plan to back down this time. While Congress’s desire for more seats in the ruling states is logical, it considers it unrealistic to make similar demands elsewhere, according to a report by news agency ANI.

KC Tyagi further said, “The Janata Dal-United is the organizing body of the INDIA bloc. We are saddened by the preparations of the Bharatiya Janata Party. We are also concerned about the seat sharing strategy in the INDIA bloc. We want clarity as soon as possible. ”

Nitish Kumar as INDIA block face in Bihar?

Talking about the prime ministerial face of the mega alliance, he said, “Nitish Kumar is the face behind the formation of the alliance and this post is much bigger than that of the organiser.” The JDU leader also took a jibe at the Congress and stated that the latter is only concerned about the party.

“Congress is free to decide on the chairman. They are worried about their own party and we are worried about the alliance,” Tyagi said. ‘

The countdown to the upcoming Lok Sabha polls has begun

As the countdown to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections has begun, the INDIA bloc has begun seat-sharing talks in earnest. After the Trinamool Congress and the Shiv Sena (UBT), it is Janata Dal United that is steadfast in its demand for 16 seats in Bihar. The JDU currently has 16 seats in Bihar; 17 are held by the BJP and the RJD has no Lok Sabha seat in the state.

The allocation of seats is becoming crucial for Congress, especially after the recent electoral setbacks.
India’s political landscape is undergoing a major transition as the 2024 Lok Sabha elections approach. The INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) consortium is gearing up to challenge the established National Democratic Alliance. The bloc is struggling to resolve key challenges, including finalizing seat-sharing arrangements and, most importantly, deciding on a prime ministerial face, while the BJP has started implementing strategies it set out in 2023 to ensure victory at the secure a general election.
