The Tattoo Collection was unveiled on October 6 and is said to be ‘inspired by Jean Paul Gaultier’s archival collections, designed to fit firmly into the present’.

The brand’s website states: ‘We all have memories rooted in the universe of Jean Paul Gaultier.

‘Tattoos, conical bras, piercings… just as many iconic gimmicks and body decorations that the House revisits to offer exclusive reinterpretations and reissues.

‘The Tattoo collection explores the archive of corsets and form-fitting pieces to create a versatile, city-ready wardrobe.’

While these designs featuring nipples and genitals are the most shocking, the collection also offers some tamer options.

There is a ‘Heraldry Tattoo Dress’ that makes your body look inked, without the illusion that the wearer is completely naked.

There is also a range of jeans and jackets in the Tattoo Collection, which are more modest.

It is not the first time that the French designer brand has attracted attention with realistic-looking designs.

A mystery man at Jean Paul Gaultier’s show during Paris Fashion Week stunned audiences in July with a full suit.

The unidentified man, who appeared quite angry, was photographed outside the event, which attracts a slew of A-list models and celebrities.

The suit – which made him look naked from afar – was lifelike and even had replica nipples.

More recently, in September, models from across London stunned the fashion community by walking the catwalk during Fashion Week in a series of bizarre looks.

The Prophetik’s Show, ‘Let The Be Naked’, surprised onlookers after a model rode down the catwalk on a white horse, while other bizarre looks included a crocheted headpiece and using hair as a face veil.
