Some of these exams are considered to be the toughest in the world and every year thousands of candidates work hard to get through them and only a small number are able to do so. The results of the Joint Entrance Exam – Mains (JEE Mains Result 2024) were released on February 12, 2024 after which students could check their details JEE Mains Scorecard and the JEE Circuit Breaker Marks for the upcoming academic session. While there was a sense of joy among those who made it, there were many who were dejected. Unfortunately, one of those IIT aspirant died by suicide in his hostel room Kotaa day after the Announcing JEE Mains Results.

IIT aspirant dies by suicide in Kota after JEE Mains announcement

An IIT aspirant, Shubh Choudhary, who belongs to Jharkhand, was found dead in his hostel room in Kota, Rajasthan today. This case of suicide comes one day after the announcement of the JEE Mains Result 2024. The aspirant had been preparing for the entrance exam for the past two years; After the result was announced, he checked it and found that his score was lower than he expected. Shubh returned to his hostel room and was found hanging from the ceiling this morning.

The police search his room for a suicide note or some other clue, but nothing has been found so far. The aspirant's family has been informed and an autopsy will be conducted after they reach Kota.

IIT Aspiring Suicide Case

In another incident from early February, Utkarsh Raj, a student of IIT (BHU) in Varanasi, was found hanging in his hostel room. Final year B.Arch (architecture) student Utkarsh Raj, 23, was reportedly suffering from depression and was undergoing counseling sessions. According to news agency IANS report, Utkarsh's father Rajendra Prasad is a section officer in BHU. The family is based in Varanasi. As of now, IIT BHU has not issued any official statement regarding the student's suicide. Police said some of Utkarsh's friends broke open the door of his room when he did not respond to their calls. Doctors at BHU hospital declared him dead on arrival.
