Jenna Ortega says Wednesday’s Goth vibe is her “real” style
Jenna Ortega revealed that her personal style is not far off What her Netflix character, Wednesday Addamscarries on the screen.
“The problem is since I’ve been doing that show, if I’m wearing something black, it looks like I’m leaning into character, but it’s my real style,” Ortega20, told WSJ. magazinee in an interview published on Monday, June 26.
The you alum went on to share that she “really resonates” with both of Wednesday — the goth, pigtail–teen wear – and the color black. “It’s easy,” she said. “AAnd I feel most myself when I wear all black, which is why it’s so exciting to do that job.”
Ortega brought her grunge-glam vibes to the Met Gala last month, where she graced the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in a Victorian-inspired ensemble by Thom Browne. The edgy look included a corset bodice and a ruffled skirt that was embellished with pearls. The Scream V actress paired the garment with knee-high socks And black and white patent heeled brogues.
She earlier showed a mysterious fashion moment during the Wednesday premiere in November 2022. For the series’ red carpet bashingOrtega wore a black lace slip from Versace paired with a tulle veil that shielded her face.
When she’s not working the press or on set, Ortega’s wardrobe features more relaxed looks and subtle pops of color.
“I’m terrible at it [putting together outfits in the morning]. Especially since I usually go to work, so I wear my personal clothes for five seconds, ”said the California native. “So it’s just sweat, and I also get cold quickly, so I always go for a cardigan. I have these ’70s red economy boots that I’m obsessed with…any time I can find a way to get those in, I will.
Besides fashion, Ortega has been busy making a name for herself in beauty. In April, Dior announced that she had been tapped as the new face of the Gris Dior fragrance. Her role at the luxury label has helped her learn a lot about fragrances and preferences.
“I don’t know if I have a sensitive nose or what, but I’m very, very particular about the scents I like,” Ortega shared. WSJ. “I like something unisex and androgynous. I don’t like anything too sweet. If something is sugar or lollipop or whatever, I can’t do it.
