A police officer’s home has been searched as part of a major investigation into the disappearance of former Channel 10 presenter Jesse Baird and his Qantas flight attendant friend Luke Davies.

Detectives arrived at the sandstone house on Waite Avenue in Balmain, in Sydney’s west, about 11.30pm on Thursday evening.

A number of items were recovered from the house in evidence bags, while a nearby alley was also cordoned off by detectives.

The home belongs to the parents of NSW police officer Beau Lamarre, who officers are searching for in connection with the missing couple.

Detectives are also on the hunt for a white van they believe is driven by Mr Lamarre after it was captured on CCTV from a neighbour’s property.

In Monday night’s vision, the couple are seen walking around the corner near Mr Baird’s patio before stopping to sit on a bench.

The white van passes the couple moments later, before appearing to mount a curb as it heads toward Cooper Street, a dead end street.

Neither Mr Baird, 26, nor Mr Davies, 29, have been seen or heard from since Monday evening, after neighbors heard arguing coming from the Paddington house.

However, Mr Baird’s WhatsApp account was not active until Tuesday evening. It is still unclear who was using the phone at that time.

The hunt for the missing couple was sparked after bloodied clothing, credit cards, keys, an $8,000 watch and a mobile phone were dumped in a dumpster at Club Cronulla, in Sydney’s south, on Wednesday.

Police were then led to Mr Baird’s blood-spattered Paddington home, 20 miles away, which has since been declared a crime scene.

On February 18, just days before their disappearance, Mr Baird posted photos of the pair together at Pink’s concert in Sydney two weeks ago.

Another photo of the couple, taken at the Palm Beach Lighthouse earlier in February, reads: “Perfect start to a long weekend.”

Friends of the former TV presenter have told police that he recently raised concerns that he was being stalked by another man.

Constable Lamarre first joined the NSW Police in 2019, while his mother was a former senior officer in the government agency.

“Detectives are investigating a line of inquiry into whether a third person may be able to assist with the investigation,” a police statement said on Wednesday.

“Police are currently trying to locate him. Detectives will continue to look at all past relationships and associations.”

Just a year after taking office, a video emerged of Mr Lamerre groping a man in the face during a dramatic arrest in Darlinghurst. This video went viral. He was later cleared by an internal investigation into any wrongdoing.

CCTV footage from the couple’s last known whereabouts on Monday evening shows the men wandering outside Mr Baird’s Paddington home before heading to the back of a terrace. Both have not been seen since.

Mr Baird is also an AFL goal referee who was asked to officiate a practice match between the Sydney Swans and Greater Western Sydney Giants match on Thursday.

The AFL confirmed it had contacted his family on Thursday after Mr Baird failed to show up to officiate the match.

Mr Davies’ home in Waterloo, in Sydney’s south, also appeared to be empty.
