The Princess of Wales paid tribute to Prince William today at the Remembrance Sunday Service in London.

The royal mother-of-three, 41, looked effortlessly elegant in a black military-inspired Alexander McQueen coat as she appeared on the balcony outside the Cenotaph with Queen Camilla.

Kate paired her coat, which she first wore in 2019, with a pair of pearl and diamond earrings – believed to have once belonged to the late queen.

Along with her trio of red poppies, the Princess of Wales completed her ensemble with a black Philip Treacy hat, complete with a black velvet bow.

The royal has owned this timelessly elegant accessory since 2006, when she wore it to watch her future husband’s passing out parade in Sandhurst.

At the time, the mother of three had just graduated from St Andrews University and was working as an accessories buyer for the Jigsaw store.

This event marked one of her first public appearances as Prince William’s girlfriend, signaling the seriousness of their relationship.

Prince William was one of dozens of trainee officers at Sandhurst who took part in the military ceremony, which was also attended by the late Queen.

For the occasion, Kate paired her velvet hat with a red coat, a black dress with lace trim, leather gloves and knee-high boots.

In a sweet nod to Prince William’s military service, the princess chose to wear her vintage hat again today – as she proudly watched her husband lay a wreath at the war memorial.

The mother-of-three also wore a silver brooch, which she received when she became Commodore-in-Chief of the Fleet Air Arm earlier this year.

The royal family held a two-minute silence to commemorate the fallen soldiers.

As the royal family visited the Cenotaph to take part in the service, they joined army officers and prominent British politicians.

They included Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and the Leader of the Opposition Sir Keir Starmer.

Former British Prime Ministers including Liz Truss, Boris Johnson, Theresa May, David Cameron, Gordon Brown, Tony Blair and Sir John Major were also in attendance.

After Prince William’s fainting parade in 2006, the future king was described as a ‘normal man’ by his fellow trainee officers.

Junior Under Officer Angela Laycock, who was in William’s Blenheim Platoon, described how the young royal fit in with the other cadets.

She said: ‘I haven’t really noticed anything different to be honest. During the first loaded march we had to take a detour to avoid some photographers. He’s just a normal guy who gets stuck like everyone else.

‘The only difference is that sometimes we see his name in the paper and you didn’t notice that he had been away that night on a charity event. I don’t know how he manages to fit that in.’
