Katie Cassidy gushes how she fell for her A Royal Christmas Crush co-star Stephen Huszar

Katie Cassidy spilled the tea when she first fell for her A Royal Christmas Crush co-star, Stephen Huszar, while filming the upcoming Hallmark movie.

The Gossip Girl alum, 36, who happily confirmed she was in a relationship with the Canadian-born actor, 39, last month in June, opened up to Entertainment tonight about the budding romance while promoting the movie which will air later this week on July 8.

The star admitted that the sparks between the two only started flying when they went for a bite to eat together. “I think we went to lunch or something, and I saw his crystals. I like crystals.’

She continued, “And we started to bond over spirituality and I started to get to know the real Stephen,” admitting sweetly, “And I was very smitten.”

The Arrow actress jokingly said, “How can you not grin at this horrible looking person and this jawline?”

First sparks: The star admitted that sparks only started flying between the two when they went for a bite to eat together, saying that “we started to bond over spirituality…”

Katie revealed the romance “just happened,” explaining, “I don’t know, it just happened. But I think we had the same moment where we both realized we really had chemistry.”

David Cassidy’s daughter delved further into how working on set turned into a real-life relationship with her protagonist.

She explained, “I’m very open. When we first met he didn’t know who I was. I didn’t know who he was. It was all very sincere and real and we took each other for granted.’

The Supernatural actress gushed, “This may sound a little cheesy, but when you know it, you know it.” Or it is intended. It’s the universe. And timing is everything.’ Stephen, who also joined the interview to discuss the film, then added his own thoughts.

A Royal Christmas Crush premieres on Saturday, July 8 as part of the Hallmark Channel’s Christmas in July special.

According to the official summary, the film’s premise follows Katie’s character, Ava, who “accepts the opportunity of a lifetime to work at the Royal Ice Hotel, which leads her to a surprise whirlwind romance with the most important guest of all, the Prince Royal himself.” ‘

Cassidy humorously recalled a brief scene where she goes “weak on the knees” around Stephen’s character. “Literally, he talks and I get weak at the knees and I almost fell over and then caught myself on the scene. I was like, “Well, it works for the character!”‘

On the subject of whether the pair might be interested in starring in sequels to the movie if it turned into a franchise, Katie admitted, “I want to see what happens.”

The star explained, “I live very much in the world of, the universe works for you and everyone if you let it. And I believe that if we should [work together again], we absolutely will. I would like to work with him all the time.’

Katie publicly confirmed in June last month that she was in a relationship with the Christmas Wedding Planner actor. She uploaded a selfie to her main Instagram page as the two soaked up the hot sun.

Previous Marriage: Cassidy was previously married to Matthew Rodgers and their divorce was finalized in March 2021; the former couple seen in Los Angeles in 2018
