Ramona Singer isn’t hanging out with her fellow Bravolebrities at BravoCon – and Kenya Moore thinks that’s fine.
“I wasn’t surprised. I mean, by being honest and personal with her and the things she would say [and] her attitude, I could just tell when someone judges you or treats you a certain way because of the color of your skin or your nationality,” the Real Housewives of Atlanta star, 52, told exclusively We weekly during the Las Vegas event on Friday, November 3.
Kenya went on to note that she was “actually happy” about Ramona’s absence. “Because I just didn’t feel like she was a good person,” she said Us about her Ultimate girls trip Co-star.
Ramona, 66, was the subject of one Vanity fair exposé earlier this month, in which she was accused of using the N-word in front of a black crew member during filming The Real Housewives of New York City season 13. She allegedly repeated the slur in a text message to a Page six employee who had asked for her response to the bombshell article. Ramona was ultimately dropped from the BravoCon lineup.
“She is very upset about all this. She is desperate. She will lay low for now,” a source close to Ramona said Us before the three-day conference officially began.
The insider further revealed that Ramona and Bravo executives had come to a “mutual agreement” that she would not attend the event.
However, a second source close to the network said this Us that it wasn’t Ramona’s “choice” to miss BravoCon.
‘I think it was the right decision’ Andy Cohen – who is executive producer of the Housewives franchise – exclusively told Us on Friday, noting that he briefly exchanged text messages with Ramona after the scandal.
Ramona’s daughter, Avery, released on the first day of BravoCon in Las Vegas. Avery’s Bach Boss has a booth at Bravo Bazaar, with an eyewitness account Us that she was “in good spirits” on Friday.
Kenya is also feeling the positive vibe at BravoCon – and is happy not to be involved in any drama.
“I don’t think I’m in the middle of anything. Am I? I do not think so. I mean what [do] say the streets?” Kenya joked Us, and notes that she’s focused on 5-year-old daughter Brooklyn and the launch of her first “bricks and mortar” spa.
That said, Kenya does think RHOA needs a cast shake-up after season 15.
“I don’t think it needs to be a total restart, but I definitely think it needs a shake-up,” she admitted. “I think some of the girls from the past would be great. I think we need to get back to that magic that we’ve seen in the past, where people don’t pretend [and] are not desperate to be there. You know what I mean? I think that’s the key. You have to find people who are not so desperate to make headlines, rather than just showing their real lives.”
