Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Health Minister Veena George has quashed rumors of a resurgence of coronavirus, terming them “panic-mongering” by vested interests. “Incidentally, last month, Singapore identified 15 people traveling from India as positive for JN1 and this means that this variant is present in other states, but in Kerala we were able to identify it thanks to our protocols. All our systems have been installed and an exercise was conducted from December 13 to 16 in 1,192 hospitals in the state to assess facility availability. We currently have 1,957 beds, 2,454 IC beds and 937 ventilator beds. So there is no need to worry,” said the minister.
