Kevin Costner is effortlessly cool in a black jacket and jeans as he steps into Aspen… amid a new romance with singer Jewel

Kevin Costner was spotted taking a stroll in snowy Aspen on Thursday amid his new romance with singer Jewel.

The Yellowstone star, 68, stayed warm in a black jacket, black scarf and light gray jeans for the outing.

The Academy Award winner – whose divorce from 49-year-old Christine Baumgartner was finalized in September – completed the look with a pair of tan cowboy boots.

The Dances with Wolves actor shielded his eyes with black sunglasses and held a cell phone in his hand as he walked.

At one point, the Hollywood leading man was pictured chatting with some male friends.

There was no sign of singer Jewel, who Costner was reportedly dating in recent weeks after finalizing a messy divorce.

Earlier this week, Costner was spotted leaving Santa Barbara for a pre-Christmas getaway.

He was pictured driving into a private airport in Santa Barbara in a dark Ford pickup with two large surfboards on the roof.

Rocking sunglasses, a black shirt, blue jeans and camel-colored cowboy boots, he arrived early Saturday morning on the tarmac where his sleek private jet had been waiting.

He exited the vehicle with two pieces of luggage and unloaded the surfboards before strolling to the plane with two male friends, who rode in separately.

They then flew out for what sources said was a two-day pre-Christmas vacation.

“He looked like one of those movie stars who got out of a big black truck and onto his private plane,” a woman at the scene on Saturday told DailyMail.com, as she looked at one of her screen idols. “Everyone said, ‘Oh, look!’

“The guy looks really good for his age, like a real cowboy in that monster truck and boots,” she said.

“He just looked happy and cheerful because he was able to go out with his friends for a few days.”

The local woman said the truck appeared to be brand new, and appeared to be a larger version of a truck. She said his 16-year-old son Cayden has been driving around Santa Barbara lately.

“It’s their new Christmas toy,” she said.

Earlier this month it was revealed that Costner and Jewel, 49, are dating after a photo emerged showing the pair getting very close on Richard Branson’s Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands.

Costner and Baumgartner, his wife of 19 years, were engaged in a months-long legal war that only ended in September.

Kevin was blindsided when Christine filed for divorce in May.

Now that Costner has moved on, Christine said she “never would have imagined he and Jewel would be in a relationship, but in retrospect it makes sense,” friends told DailyMail.com earlier this month.

‘They both love music, that cowboy thing. What’s not to like about her? Jewel is certainly a down-to-earth person and has her own thing,” our source said.

‘Christine said the last thing she wanted was for some fame seeker to come along and play mother to their three children. But Jewel has a son of her own, she has her own life and is not a gold digger. So that’s a relief.’

Christine and Kevin share three children: Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13.

Jewel’s son Kase, 12, who she shares with her professional cowboy ex-husband Ty Murray, also appeared to be traveling to Branson’s luxurious island.

TMZ shared images showing Kevin’s arms around Jewel’s waist as she spoke into a microphone.

They seemed very flirty and were smiling from ear to ear while on the island for a tennis fundraiser for Jewel’s Inspiring Children Foundation.

A source told TMZ: ‘There was definitely something going on. They were flirty, and when they were together it was like they both just lit up.

“You could tell they were trying to be discreet, but anyone who saw them could tell something was going on.”

It was also reported that Jewel was “picky about who to date” but feels Kevin “qualifies” following her split from Murray in 2014.

Costner’s ex-wife says it’s “bittersweet” to see her Yellowstone actor ex dating just three months after their contentious divorce was finalized.

But Baumgartner thinks it could have been worse: telling a friend that the last thing she would want is some fame-seeking bimbo coming along to play mother to their kids.

“Christine said she wasn’t surprised Kevin moved on so quickly, but he didn’t have to make it so obvious by putting his arms around her,” a close friend told DailyMail.com.

The source added that Christine is relieved that Costner isn’t dating a “fame seeker” and that Jewel seems like a “down-to-earth person.”

“She said she’s happy for him, but it’s still not a good feeling to see your ex with someone new,” the friend said.

The divorce was finalized in September, with Costner ordered to pay $63,209 per month in child support.

Costner was preliminarily ordered to pay $129,755 per month during an initial hearing, although Baumgartner subsequently asked for $175,057 per month during a hearing in Santa Barbara in August.

A joint statement from Costner and Baumgartner to DailyMail.com read: ‘Kevin and Christine Costner have reached an amicable and mutually agreed resolution to all issues relating to their divorce proceedings.’
