Kourtney Kardashian changes last name, shares new license photo

Kourtney Kardashian officially changed her last name after getting married Travis Barker — but the timing of her announcement raised eyebrows among some fans.

Kardashian, 44, shared a glimpse of her updated license via Instagram on Thursday, June 29. “Say my name,” she captioned the post, which showed a black and white photo above her full name, Kourtney Kardashian Barker.

The location was tagged “Department of Motor Vehicles”. Some social media users quickly assumed that the founder of Poosh was making fun of her sister Kim Kardashianwhose DMV trip aired on Thursday’s episode of The Kardashians.

Fans saw Kim, 42, bring her glam squad — hairstylist included Chris Appleton and make-up artist Ariel Tejada — by for her appointment at the California office after regular business hours. Kim dressed in black bike shorts and flip flops as she thanked employees for keeping the office open.

“Today we’re with Kim and we’re taking a picture of her driver’s license,” the 40-year-old Appleton told the cameras. “It is a big problem, because you have to live with it for a long time. … Too many people live with driver’s licenses that aren’t cute.”

When she finally made her way to the photo area, Kim teased that she was “so nervous” and requested that the RDW employee “wait until I’m not laughing.” Tejada, 28, held a lamp over the camera for an extra glow.

Kim and her team were not happy with the first shot and asked for another. “Wow. We got ripped off!” said the reality star as she approved the second photo “This one is good.”

After Kourtney shared her own licensing photo on Thursday, fans immediately took to the comments section with their theories. “I guess Ariel and Chris didn’t come to the DMV with Kourt either,” one user wrote, while another accused Kourtney of “copying” her sister.

A third fan simply teased, “The timing of this post makes me scream.”

Throughout season 3 of The Kardashians, Kim and Kourtney have been at odds over their respective connections to Dolce & Gabbana. Kourtney and Barker, 47 – who are currently expecting their first baby together – collaborated with the brand ahead of their May 2022 wedding in Italy. Later that year, Kim formed her own partnership with the label, which caused tension between the two sisters.

“I go to great lengths to have my own thing. But there is no sense of loyalty. It almost looks like greed,” Kourtney shared Khloe Kardashian in Thursday’s episode, where she explains her perspective. “We have it all. We have more than we would like or need. When I look at the photos from the fashion show, I think half the time [wonder] if that is my wedding.”

After claiming that Kim didn’t feel “bad” about the situation, Kourtney confessed that she put off talking to her directly. “She’s so unbearable to even have a conversation with. … This is definitely not about a brand. It was about my wedding — I didn’t feel really supported,” she continued. “It’s like a free for everyone and there are no boundaries. It felt like it wasn’t proper to ask me how I felt about her doing this so close to my wedding.

Kim previously took aim at Kourtney on the June 22 episode after hearing what she said behind her back. “I shouldn’t have to ask her permission. I thought I was really mindful. There were so many collections [I didn’t choose items from],” she said. “She says all her friends [supports her]but she has no friends. So Travis?”
