Kyle Richards And Mauricio Umansky‘s previous comments about the status of their marriage are resurfacing in light of the news of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills divorce of the couple.

In April, the 54-year-old Bravo star spoke Page six about how photos of her leaving the gym without a wedding ring led to split speculation.

“A, I didn’t wear my big diamond ring because there’s a lot of crime these days and I thought, ‘I’m not comfortable.’ And B, I just got out of the gym lifting weights, so I was like, ‘That thing turned that on?'” Richards said at the time. “If this stuff came up sooner, I’d want to cry and I was devastated. But now I’m more like, ‘OK, I’ve done this before. Let’s do this. Bring it on. Come on. Let’s see what you got me here.'”

While Richards insisted that she and Umansky were fine, she admitted she wasn’t looking forward to reliving the drama when season 13 of RHOBH will premiere later this year.

“Obviously you don’t like that because when the show airs in six months I’m going to have to deal with this and people will start talking again and more fake stories and lies. I’m in my undisturbed era in that regard. That’s for sure,” she said.

Richards and Umansky, who married in 1996, are parents to daughters Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23, and Portia, 15. Richards also shares daughter Farrah Aldjufrie, 34, with ex-husband Guraish Aljufrie.

“My response, I mean these are stories. This is what always happens,” said Farrah the outlet from her mother and stepfather at the same event in April. “People are going to find something and try to make a story out of it. And I feel like we’ve already been through so much at this point. I mean, who cares?

That same month, Umansky denied that he and Richards were “getting divorced”, confirming that the Bravo cameras caught the chatter.

“[There’s] that one stupid story that came out there and then all the girls, you know, decided to talk about it on the Housewives and now it’s a storyline. So there are definitely some stories and Kyle and I are tackling it and we’re taking it from there. It is what it is,” the real estate mogul said in April’s “Two Ts In a Pod” podcast. “For [her costars] to bring it up and make it real, bring it to the show… just kinda sucks. So we dealt with it and it is what it is,” he said. “I think, you know, to be on these shows, you have to get a thick skin.”

A source has confirmed that Us weekly on Monday, July 3 that the duo “have been separated for a while, but currently still living together”. The insider added that they are “amicable as they figure out next steps.”

Hours later, Richards and Umansky again denied filing for divorce, acknowledging that they are going through “the most challenging of our marriage.”

“Yes, we have had a tough year,” read their joint statement. “The most challenging of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other very much. No one has done anything wrong. Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to solve our problems privately. While it can be fun to speculate, please don’t create false stories to fit an otherwise salacious story. Thanks for the love and support. Kyle & Mauricio.”
