Jason Kelce has not yet formally retired from the NFL, but his wife, Kylie Kelcehas ideas for his next moves.
“I think he'll have plenty of time to pick up some new hobbies,” Kylie, 31, joked in an interview that aired on the Saturday, February 3, episode of Good morning America. “So maybe he'll get good at making it [meals]. Maybe he will be the new breakfast man!”
During the first part of Kylie's GMA In an interview that aired on Monday, January 29, she revealed that Jason, 36, can only make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for their three daughters. Jason and Kylie, who married in 2018, share children Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 2, and Bennett, 11 months.
Despite Jason's lack of culinary skills, he has many other exemplary qualities. “He is [good at everything]Kylie joked during Saturday's broadcast. “It's such a pain.”
Jason has played professional football for the Philadelphia Eagles as a center since 2011. After the Eagles lost their divisional playoff game in January, Jason let his teammates know in the locker room that he was ready to hang up his boots for good. Jason has not further confirmed whether he will indeed retire before the 2024-2025 NFL season.
“I don't know what's going to happen to me,” Jason told the newspaper Philadelphia researcher in an interview in January. “I know, I still want to be involved in the organization and still be a part of it, no matter what the decision is.”
He continued: “I'm really looking forward to next year. I'm looking forward to trying to prove people wrong, especially with some of the recent hires [coach] Nick Sirianni. There's a lot up in the air for the Philadelphia Eagles. But I think as a player you always look forward to competing with your guys.”
Jason's family – mother Donna Kelcefather Ed Kelce and brother Travis Kelce – also don't know if he's ready to retire yet. However, the Kelces aren't done with the current NFL season yet, as 34-year-old Travis and his Kansas City Chiefs teammates are still in the running for the Super Bowl trophy.
“I know it wasn't easy. I know it's been a tough year,” Jason told his younger brother after the Chiefs won the AFC championship on Jan. 28. “You have remained faithful. Finish it for me. Finish this son of a bitch.”
The Chiefs will play the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, February 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
