Manish Sisodia taken to hospital from jail

As reported earlier, jailed AAP leader Manish Sisodia was taken to Delhi's government-run LNJP Hospital on Tuesday for consultation for orthopedic issues, sources said. The former deputy chief minister of Delhi is in jail in connection with the excise policy case. According to a PTI report, a source said that Sisodia was taken to the LNJP around 11 am today. He had some orthopedic problems for which he was taken there for treatment and consultation.

Sisodia held the excise department portfolio and was also deputy CM before his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in February, followed by another arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), both in two different cases related to the Beverage Policy Scam Case. The CBI said in its statement that Manish Sisodia was interrogated for hours in connection with the excise policy and his alleged links with Dinesh Arora and other accused named in the FIR. The agency said it did not find Sisodia's answers “satisfactory.” The CBI said, “He (Manish Sisodia) gave evasive answers and did not cooperate with the investigation despite being confronted with evidence to the contrary.”

“The present case was registered against the Deputy Chief Minister and Excise Minister-in-charge, GNCTD of Delhi and 14 others for investigation into the issue of alleged irregularities in formulation and implementation of excise policy for the year 2021-2022 and extension of benefits post the tender to private individuals,” the CBI said.
