Martin Short has cleared up rumors that he has a romantic spark with Meryl Streep.
The Hollywood icons played love interests in the most recent season of Only Murders in the Building.
Photos of Meryl, 74, and Martin, 73, looking cozy at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday led fans to speculate that the two separate actors were dating.
A rep for The Three Amigos star quickly shut down those rumors, saying they’re “just really good friends, that’s all,” he says. TMZ.
Meryl – who oozed sophistication at the Golden Globes – revealed late last year that she had been separated from her husband of 45 years since 2017.

“Don Gummer and Meryl Streep have been divorced for more than six years, and while they will always care for each other, they have chosen separate lives,” a rep for Streep told People in October.
They share four children together, son Henry, 44, and daughters Mamie, 40, Grace, 37, and Louisa, 32.
And Martin was married to his beloved late wife Nancy Dolman from 1980 until her death from ovarian cancer in 2010.
The SCTV alum called his wedding “a triumph” in a 2019 interview with AARP the Magazine.
“So it’s tough. She passed away in 2010, but I still communicate with her constantly. It’s ‘Hey Nan’, you know?’ he shared. “How would she react to this or that decision, especially regarding our three children.”
Short and Dolman share daughter Katherine, 40, and sons Oliver, 37, and Henry, 34.
Meryl and Martin sat at the same table as their Only Murders in the Building co-star, Selena Gomez, 31.
All three actors were nominated for their roles in the hit Hulu series.

The series was renewed for a fourth season in October and Short, Gomez and Steve Martin, 78, will all return for it.
Short commented in an interview about the popularity of the series Peoplesaying: ”I don’t think you ever really expect it, so it’s a nice surprise when it happens.
“I’m thrilled to be on an undeniably hit show – and to work with my boyfriend who I was going to hang out with anyway.”
Short and Martin have been friends for 36 years.
