McDonald's menu favorite returns after being withdrawn due to shortages

The McDonald's breakfast wrap has returned to menus today after being briefly withdrawn due to unprecedented demand.

The much-loved morning product returned to branches in Britain and Ireland for the first time last week as part of the fast food chain's latest menu update.

However, it was later removed due to concerns that such a high volume of orders could have caused a shortage of other breakfast items.

It can be purchased for £4.39 as a standalone item or for £5.89 as part of a meal and can be ordered in stores or from a McDelivery.

McDonald's breakfast wrap consists of a pork sausage patty, two eggs, a slice of bacon, a crispy potato rosti and cheese, and is served in a tortilla wrap with tomato ketchup or brown sauce.

After the initial announcement of the breakfast box's return, fans were quick to express their excitement on social media.

Another fan happily posted: 'Absolutely loving McDonald's new breakfast packaging. Two eggs…what a treat!'

A third joked: 'Happy McDonald's Breakfast Wrap day to those who celebrate.'

A fourth added: 'McDonald's breakfast wrap was my favorite for years until it was discontinued. Today is the first day I eat it again and the wait was worth it'.

The return of the Breakfast Wrap comes with the introduction of several new menu items, including the McSpicy x Frank's RedHot, the Raspberry and White Chocolate Pie, the KitKatRuby Chocolate McFlurry and the KitKat Milk Chocolate McFlurry.

Perhaps the most anticipated item on the menu is the new McSpicy, a chicken burger served with lettuce, Emmental cheese, jalapenos, onions and Frank's RedHot Mayo in a sesame seed bun.

You can buy the new McSpicy® x Frank's RedHot on its own for €5.59 or as a meal for €7.29.

These limited edition menu items will only be available for purchase for six weeks, while supplies last.

Other items returning to the menu include the Big Lekker with Bacon and Mozzarella Dippers with Salsa Dip, which are also available in a larger box for sharing.
