Melbourne mother shares CCTV footage of thief stealing her Christmas presents
A fed-up young mother has publicly shamed the shirtless thief who stole her Christmas presents from her home after giving him 24 hours to return the parcels.
Melbourne mother Jasmine Yoong left five parcels on her doorstep before Christmas for a postman to deliver to her loved ones.
But after revisiting her CCTV footage from Wednesday evening, she saw that the gifts had been stolen by a shirtless man in black shorts, who then fled the scene in a white Mazda 3.
Ms Yoong shared a TikTok asking the man to come forward and promising not to make the footage public if he returned her parcels within 24 hours.
“I’m not going to show your face yet, I’m not even going to share the car’s license plate… I haven’t filed a police report yet,” Ms. Yoong said.
‘I will give you 24 hours to return these packages. I’m not even confused because of “Oh no, I lost the money,” like yeah, that’s annoying, but do you know how long it took to write each note by hand? I had to do 40.
‘I have the license plate of your car, I have your face, I can report it to the police, I’m not going to do that.
“All I want is my five packs back, even if you ripped open the bag, that’s fine, just give me the boxes back. The items aren’t even crazy, they’re just Christmas presents I sent to people.”

The video quickly gained attention online, with the mother of three even having TV reporters show up at her door.
An employee at a nearby McDonald’s then contacted Ms Yoong and told her that the same man was “causing a commotion” at the fast food restaurant just hours before he stole her packages.

‘Sometimes all you need is a wake-up call. It’s really not even about the packages, I’m just trying to teach you how to do the right thing,” she said.
After the 24 hours were up and no one came forward, Ms. Yoong made good on her promise and shared the images of the thief.
The CCTV footage showed the man calmly walking to her veranda before picking up the five packages.
He then quickly ran to the waiting Mazda 3, which Ms Yoong said had two women inside.
The man then struggled to get all five packages into the car before the vehicle drove away with the rear door still half open.
“I was really hoping he would bring back my packages so I wouldn’t have to report it to the police and share these images,” Ms. Yoong said after sharing the video on Friday.
Ms Yoong said she has since filed a police report.
