Shock when one of Australia’s most popular radio presenters quits the breakfast show
2GB breakfast newscaster and news director Natalie Peters is leaving the station after 12 years.
Peters said the role was a dream come true and she owes her success to the people she has worked with.
“Radio is a team effort and with 2GB I’ve been lucky enough to work with the best team in the industry,” she said.
“Over the years we have always had an incredibly dedicated, talented and caring group of journalists and I am so proud of everything we have done.

“One of our journalists once remarked that when you sit down on our newsroom for a shift, you know that the person who came before you has done absolutely everything to set you up for success,” she explained.
Colleague Ray Hadley described Peters as a “wonderful woman” and a great mentor to younger employees.
“As Breakfast news editor and then news director, she has not been afraid to confront some presenters who believed her editorial decisions were wrong,” he said.
“I think they forgot, while advice is always welcome in the editorial office, orders were not welcome.”
Peters started at 2RRR before studying Media and Communications at the University of Sydney, doing snow reports for radio and TV stations in Jindabyne.
A spell at AFTRS followed before winning the 2013, 14, 15, 17 and 2018 Kennedy Awards for Outstanding Radio Reporting and Best On-Air Team for Metropolitan AM Radio with Erin Molan at the 2019 ACRAs.
