Perry Mason CANCELED by HBO executives nearly two months after the second season finale

The crime drama series Perry Mason has been canceled by HBO executives after two seasons.

The news of the program ending was revealed on Tuesday by deadlineand it was also reported that the show’s second-season finale had only aired a month and a half prior to its axion.

HBO released a statement about the series, whose leadership recently saved a pub in his native Wales, indicating that the show will continue to be fondly remembered by the crew and fans.

The statement began: “We are immensely grateful to the remarkable work of Matthew Rhys and the unparalleled cast and crew of Perry Mason for their reinvention of such a cherished and legendary franchise.”

It was subsequently stated that Perry Mason’s creative team would still be collaborating with HBO’s staff on several shows.

The character later became the subject of a television program that aired from 1957 to 1966, with Raymond Burr filling the role for the show’s entire run.

The actor went on to appear in more than 25 television movies about the detective that aired from 1985 to 1995.

The new version of Perry Mason premiered in June 2020 and the cast was led by Matthew Rhys.

The show’s cast also included artists such as Juliet Rylance, Shea Whigham, and John Lithgow.

Robert Downey, Jr. and his wife Susan were two of the program’s executive producers.

Set in the 1930s, the new version of the series also acted as a prequel to the show starring Burr.
