The protest has now turned into a political battle as the BJP leaders have also come out in support of the women and asked the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC government to take action against the accused. In a latest update, the West Bengal BJP president said: Sukanta Majumdar said that PM Modi will visit Bengal on March 6, 2024 and is also expected to visit the Sandeshkhali victims during his visit.

As mentioned earlier, West Bengal President Sukanta Majumdar has confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bengal on March 6, 2024. This visit of the Prime Minister comes amid the ongoing Sandeshkhali violence. The BJP president has also said that Prime Minister Modi may also meet the 'tortured women' of Sandeshkhali.

When asked by media reporters whether Prime Minister Modi will meet the women of Sandeshkhali, Sukanta Majumdar said, “If the sisters and mothers of Sandeshkhali want to meet Prime Minister Modi, we will definitely arrange it.”

During his interaction with reporters, the BJP state president revealed that Prime Minister Modi is coming to Bengal to address a women's rally in Barasat, North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. In his words, “Today we came to know that the Prime Minister will visit the state on March 6 and address a women's rally in Barasat.”

Besides Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah is also likely to visit the state for two days on February 28. Protests are underway in the Sandeshkhali area of ​​the state, with women accusing Trinamool Congress leader Shahjahan Sheikh and his supporters of forcibly “land grabbing and sexually abusing” them.

Several leaders and dignitaries, including the governor and the chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW), have already visited the conflict area and met with the victims.
