Prince William poses with George, Charlotte and Louis for Father’s Day photo
The Royal Family celebrated Father’s Day by releasing a sweet new photo of prince william with his and Princess Katehis three children.
William wore matching blue outfits and was flanked by Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince George, 9, who both smiled at him, while Prince Louis, 5, hugged his father from behind.
Although released on Saturday, June 17, just before Father’s Day, the photo was taken by Milly Pilkington at the Windsor Estate earlier this year. The photographer also captured the sweet photos of Louis released for his birthday in April, showing him wearing the same sweater and being pushed in a wheelbarrow by his mother.
The children are beaming, as is their father, but that doesn’t mean they shy away from serious subjects. The 40-year-old Prince of Wales revealed that he is trying to help his children understand homelessness, a cause close to his heart.
“When I left this morning, one of the things I thought was, ‘When is the right time to take George or Charlotte or Louis to a homeless organization?’ I think if I can balance it with their education they will definitely be exposed to it,” William told London’s The times in an interview published on Saturday. “At school we talk about what we see. When we drove back and forth in London, we regularly saw people sitting in front of supermarkets and we talked about it.”
He continued: “I would say to the kids, ‘Why are they there? What is happening?’ I think it’s in all of our interests, it’s the right thing to do, to expose the kids, on the right stage, in the right dialogue, so that they understand. She [will] grow up knowing that, you know what, some of us are very lucky, some of us need a little help, some of us need to do more where we can to help others improve their lives.
William has made ending homelessness one of his lifelong missions and will unveil The Royal Foundation’s new long-term project later this month, aimed at helping the issue.
“In my work I meet these people, I get to hear the stories, I get to feel it, I get to see it. That is very important to me – and I have heard from them myself, “explained the heir to the throne. ‘They have become invisible. It’s really important for society to recognize that someone is out there and they’re struggling. It shouldn’t be happening, but it is. You can’t ignore it.”
