'Thank you very much' say PS5 owners about a hack to upgrade iPhone with gaming benefits

PLAYSTATION fans can unlock a clever second use for their DualSense controllers.

Console fans were happy to discover the trick – and everyone with one iPhone can try it too.

Every PS5 comes with a DualSense controller, the hi-tech standard joypad for this generation of PlayStation consoles.

But it's easy to forget that your DualSense can connect to other devices, not just your PS5.

In a Reddit thread that has racked up dozens of 'upvotes', a PlayStation owner has urged gamers to 'connect your controller to your phone'.

“So I don't know how many people don't know this. I didn't even know this until now,” they wrote.

“I only discovered this because I was trying to play Remote Play on my phone.

“Go to your mobile phone's Bluetooth settings and you can pair your controller with your phone.”

Many games offer controller support, so you can enjoy your DualSense on popular titles like Call of Duty: Mobile.

You can even go to the App Store and search specifically for games with “controller support.”

The Reddit poster said: “I have Stardew Valley on my phone and I hate playing it on the phone because it's so fiddly with the touch screen.

“But the fact that you can use a controller that syncs with your phone makes it all the better.”

It may also be worth it to invest into a grip or attachment for your iPhone that allows you to attach it to your DualSense.

That way you can turn your iPhone and controller into a portable gaming console.

PS5 owners were impressed by the tip, with one grateful fan commenting: “Thanks so much for posting this.

“This just solved a heartbreaking problem for my niece, whose hands sometimes don't work. I never thought this was even remotely possible.”

How to connect your DualSense to iPhone

First, make sure the DualSense controller is turned off.

Then press and hold the PS button and the Create (or Share) button at the same time.

Do this until the light bar on the controller starts flashing.

This indicates that the DualSense is in pairing mode, allowing you to pair it with your iPhone.

Now go to Settings > Bluetooth and choose the controller from the list of devices.

If the DualSense is paired but not connected, press the PS button on your controller.
