Queen Letizia of Spain was the picture of elegance as she attended a state banquet at Christiansborg Palace with her husband, King Felipe, this evening.

Letizia, 51, showed off her sartorial flair in an embroidered navy blue dress, topped off with the dazzling Fleur de Lys tiara.

The royal mother of two added statement sapphire and diamond earrings, while her hair was worn back in a chignon.

Letizia and Felipe joined Princess Mary, Prince Frederik and Queen Margrethe of Denmark on this lavish occasion.

The couple landed at Copenhagen Airport earlier in the day, marking the start of their state visit, which lasted from November 6 to November 8.

Letizia looked as glamorous as ever in an A-line dress, with a plunging scoop neckline and a tulle overlay.

She opted for her signature radiant makeup look, with golden shades on her eyelids, cheekbones and lips.

The royal family elevated her ensemble with the Fleur de Lys tiara, which was only worn by three first ladies.

This tiara, known within the Spanish royal family as ‘La Buena’ (the good one), was presented to Queen Ena of Spain by her husband, King Alfonso XIII, on their wedding day in 1906.

Meanwhile, King Felipe looked dapper in his uniform of the Supreme Commander of the Armies.

Crown Princess Mary also made a striking entrance, wearing a shimmering light blue dress.

The fit-and-flare silhouette was accentuated by a cinched waist and all-over embellishments that sparkled under the lights.

Princess Mary opted for glamorous make-up, with smoky eye shadow and berry lipstick.

Mary chose the Edwardian tiara, a lavish piece crafted with diamonds, rubies and spinels, and set in gold and silver.

The elaborate design can be removed from the frame and worn as a necklace – which is how Mary first wore it in public in Aarhus in 2015.

Prince Frederik donned his traditional Danish military uniform, complete with ceremonial saber and hat.

Queen Margrethe of Denmark looked delighted to receive the royals as she presented a green lace dress, accessorised with extravagant emerald jewellery.

Earlier today, Princess Mary welcomed the Spanish royal family upon their arrival, along with Queen Margrethe of Denmark, Prince Frederik and Princess Benedkeek.

Queen Letizia left the plane in a beautiful long cream-colored coat and stilettos, which she combined with a dark red handbag. She wore her hair in a tight updo to show off a pair of flashy earrings.

The sophisticated ensemble marked a change from her equally chic outfit seen before boarding her flight from Madrid – which included a lime green blazer, black oversized jacket and black chunky boots.

The Spanish royal couple then rode in a carriage with Queen Margrethe from Kastellet to Amalienborg Castle in Copenhagen.

The three royals were seen smiling outside the castle after arriving by carriage, before being photographed with Princess Mary and Prince Frederik.
