New Delhi: MS Dhoni and Rishabh Pant’s bond is taking the internet by storm. After being spotted playing tennis together, the wicketkeeper duo took over the social media space as they celebrated Christmas 2023 together. Pant accompanied Dhoni and his family during the Christmas celebrations.

The picture of Rishabh Pant with Dhoni, Sakshi and their daughter Ziva along with other family and friends was posted from Ziva Dhoni’s official Instagram account. The post is now going viral across the social space.

Recently, Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed that CSK captain MS Dhoni is ready to resume training in the coming weeks ahead of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

“He is doing well now. He has started his rehabilitation and is working in the gym. And probably in another 10 days he will also start working in the nets,” he said on the sidelines of the launch of the Junior Super Kings inter-school tournament.

“Since the season starts around March 22, we are planning a camp in Chennai in the first week of March,” Viswanathan added. He was also asked whether the franchise got their preference during the recently concluded IPL 2024 auction.

“We have achieved almost all our objectives. We had plans for Daryl Mitchell. We thought Mustafizur Rahman would be a good bet on our Chepauk wicket, with the big side boundaries. These were our thoughts, but we weren’t sure if we could make them happen.

“Luckily it was a good auction for us this time,” Viswanathan said. He also explained why they spent Rs 8.4 crore on uncapped batsman Sameer Rizvi. “Sameer Rizvi was a goal-oriented player for many of the franchises. We were probably a bit lucky when we got him. If you look at it, we were trying to get a replacement for Ambati Rayudu. We didn’t think we had enough players with that kind of experience to bid on any of them. That’s why we thought it was better to go for a young person who has the promise.”

“I’m not just saying this because we picked him, he will be the next best. But there is a possibility for that. Last year we got Shaik Rasheed, Nishant Sindhu and Rajvardhan Hangargekar. So we are also trying to build the team for the future, which will help us in the longer term,” he concludes.
