Did Mumbai Indians Force Mark Boucher Podcast to Remove Episode After Controversy?

Mumbai: There was a lot of fuss when Rohit Sharma was removed as Mumbai Indians captain and Hardik Pandya became the new leader for the upcoming season. Not much was known as to why this decision was made. But a few days ago, MI coach Mark Boucher gave an interview in which he revealed why the decision had been made. Boucher called it a 'cricketing' decision and that confused everyone. Hours after that interview grabbed attention, Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika took to social media and commented on Boucher's video. Her comment was: “There is so much wrong with this.”

What this comment did was it set the cat among the pigeons and the controversy snowballed. Now the viral video of Boucher making the revelation has been removed. It no longer exists on the “smashsportsinc” Instagram page.

So that brings us to the most important question: did Mumbai Indians force the podcast to remove the episode? At the moment it seems so, but there is no confirmation.

“It's more of a cricketing decision that has been made and I think it will bring out the best in Rohit as a person and a player. Just let him go out there and enjoy himself and score some good runs. He has been captain for years and has done very well for Mumbai Indians. Now he also leads India. It's him walking into a place and there's just cameras in there and he's so busy and he probably hasn't had the best couple of seasons with the bat, but he's done a good job as captain,” Boucher said on the podcast.
