This is according to the singer's mother – who recently attended a Grammys after-party with her boyfriend Benny Blanco Elite daily that her daughter didn't set specific boundaries or make promises about the length of each of her breaks.

Teefey, 47, said Gomez ultimately decided how long each of her breaks would last, saying, “Whatever time Selena needs, she gives herself.”

The hitmaker's mother also revealed that she often took short breaks from social media, although she regularly returned to her various outlets.

“I can go a week without looking at social media, and then I go there and try to catch up,” she admitted.

Teefey then advised her fans to take a break from social media every now and then in an effort to ground themselves in reality.

'You feel more comfortable in your world and live in the moment. It's so much calmer,” she said.

The artist's mother then shared how she spent the mental health days with her daughter, who often spends time with her family after disconnecting from social media.

“We get together and plan a movie day; we cook food and just relax and hang out. Then we all fall asleep,” she said.
