The whole world is talking about Angelo Mathew’s Timed Out dismissal. While some people said the firing was justified, others felt strongly that the firing was not ethical.

If you are wondering what exactly happened during the match between Bangaldesh and Sri Labka, then according to the laws the batsman must be ready to face the ball within two minutes of a previous dismissal, but the strap of Angelo’s helmet broke when he arrived at the crease, and that’s why he took some time in the hustle and bustle of exchanging the new one.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh captain Shakib-Al-Hasan called for a timeout. Mathews made it very clear that he had five seconds left and tried to convince Shakib, but Shakib refused to withdraw the appeal.

While the whole world hates Shakib for not showing athletes, he finally explained his case.

Shakib said he felt like he was “at war” when asked about the controversial firing of Angelo Mathews. Explaining this, he said that one of the Bangladesh fielders had informed him that Mathews was taking time to face his first ball and that they could appeal to the umpire about it.

“One of our field players came to me and said: ‘If you appeal now, he will be thrown out, if you mean it’. Then I appealed and the referee asked me if I meant it and if I would take it back or not. I said no if it’s in the rule, if it’s out, I [won’t] take it back,” Shakib said during the post-match presentation.

“It’s in the laws. I don’t know if it’s right or wrong. But it felt like I was at war. I had to make a decision to make sure my team wins and whatever I had to do, I had to do. Right or wrong – there will be debates. But if it is in the rules, I don’t mind taking those risks,” he further said.
